Portugal

I've just realised I have been updating B's less often. I've been quite busy at work and at home (a bit of decorating, organising and gardening), so blogging slipped down the priority list for a while.

I've now got some photos of my trip to Portugal organised, so I thought I'd share them.

The first 3 photos are of a town called Sesimbra. This is to the south of Lisbon and as you can see has a fantastic beach and views.

The next ones are of Lisbon city centre, with all its beautiful buildings and statues (actually we've only taken pictures of very few statues, but the city has them all over the place). Also notice the traditional pavement (called calcada, in Portuguese), which consists of light and dark cube-shaped stones laid out in various patterns by paving specialists (called calceteteiros) who are employed by city and town councils throughout Portugal.

Would I recommend Lisbon for a Summer break? Definitely! The city and surrounding areas offer a huge variety of things to do and to see, from the beaches, to the nightlife, to shopping in the various shopping centers, to the cultural visits. And Portugal is quite a small country so you can visit other areas, like the Algarve (in the south) and Porto (in the north).
